Fashion after Covid-19Moda posle korone
The Covid-19, the world pandemic, came and turned everything upside down … Our relations, habits, rituals, jobs, world economy. Fashion, as an important industry, part of a large global chain that employs millions of people around the world is one of the first to be hit. In the period when we re-examine and change our priorities, when we carefully choose what we spend our money on, one the question arises. How will the world of fashion change? How corona will affect our fashion choices and styles?Korona, svetska pandemija, došla je i izokrenula sve naopačke … Naše odnose, navike, rituale, poslove, svetsku ekonomiju.
The global pandemic is the right time to stop and reflect on our consumer habits and their consequences for the environment. Slow fashion, sustainable clothes, local support instead of global fashion chains are things that came to life before the pandemic, but will now be even more in focus. Authenticity, quality, respect for ethical principles (production, distribution, sales) should be emphasized as imperatives of the fashion industry. Whether you are a consumer or a manufacturer, now is the time to transform your fashion needs and choices. Although undoubtedly, the pandemic caused a great economic crisis whose consequences are uncertain, we must be optimistic and assume postive scenario. As history teaches us, great crises can also be a source of inspiration, moments when our imagination develops which results in new achievements and innovations. Fashion does not lag in that, on the contrary. It’s the right time to design your style, turn on your imagination, combine different elements, and step out of defined patterns. We slowly jump out of the corona-inspired uniforms – pajamas, leggings, tracksuits, and sneakers, and return to our favorite spring combinations. Despite the crisis, the desire to look beautiful and tidy, to express our character through clothes, always remains. Maybe our fashion budgets will be more modest, but, that is why our fashion choices will be wiser and smarter. We will look for pieces that are not related to one trend or season … Now we need pieces that last, made of quality materials, different and timeless. Maybe during the isolation, you finally managed to tidy up your closet, sort your clothes, and understand what you have in excess and what you lack. If you are more ambitious, you may have even dared to learn to knit, cut or sew… Many of us have recognized their fashion talent in making fashion masks. Yes, if there’s one must-have in the coming seasons, it’s this little piece of fabric. In addition to their protective role, masks have become a favorite fashion item, a trend, an unavoidable accessory on the streets of various cities around the world. Big fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi, Dior, raced to come up with a more elegant or unusual mask.
Colorful, black, floral, masks in different colors, shapes, and materials came with a unique goal – to bring serenity and positivity to this time. If you are one of the people who like to express attitude and originality through clothes – then a custom-made mask is your right choice. However, masks are not the only fashion symbol of this pandemic. As always, individuals and brands have gone a step further in designing pandemic-inspired fashion pieces. We can say that a new fashion direction is being formed – corona fashion. These interesting jackets with visors have appeared on social networks, a completely practical solution in the fight against the coronavirus.
Chinese designers found inspiration for their collection in doctors and their mandatory uniforms. Another short-term trend or real necessity? Time will tell. No matter how far you go in your fashion exhibitions, don’t forget that the only important thing is to be comfortable and pleasant. ☺
